Albemarle County Police located and arrested a suspect wanted by CPD in connection with an early morning shooting on Old Preston Ave.

Beatriz Mendez Feliciano died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

A large police presence was reported near Richmond Rd. and Black Cat Rd.

The adult victim was transported to UVA Medical Center.

During a June 10 public meeting at Hollymead Elementary School, Haas – who has since resigned – told the audience police instructed him not to inform families, even if they had a child who had met with Swiney.

A person at the makeshift homeless encampment told investigators they had been the victim of a sexual assault.

Hopkins agreed to have his case advanced to an Aug. 3 grand jury in Albemarle County Circuit Court.

The officers remain on administrative leave as CPD reviews the incident. The suspect, Daquan Hoffman, remains at large and now faces two attempted murder charges.

Hoffman was not compliant with police attempts to take him into custody, leading to an exchange of gunfire and Hoffman fleeing the scene. 

Kenyatta Rashad Anthony, 49, faces charges of attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon in connection to a June 4 incident.
