CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Gunfire was reported early Tuesday morning in the 700 block of Madison Ave. in the Venable neighborhood, according to the Charlottesville Police Department.

CPD reported it was on the scene of the incident at about 6 a.m. It was not immediately clear if there were any victims or property damage. CPD said it believed the gunshots to be an isolated incident.

CPD said to expect a large police presence in that vicinity during that investigation.

“Further information will be provided as it becomes available,” the post said.
