CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Just as there was none in last week’s school board meeting, Albemarle County’s Wednesday Board of Supervisors meeting will have no live stream as the county continues working through limitations resulting from a cyberattack. The county last week took down internet to most departments that didn’t have a public safety function after the attack. Communications Director Abbey Stumpf said Wednesday morning, “Our internal IT team and outside cybersecurity experts have been working carefully to bring systems back online safely and securely.”
No Albemarle Supervisors meeting live stream as county still works through cyberattack restoration
Just as there was none in last week's school board meeting, Albemarle County's Wednesday Board of Supervisors meeting will have no live stream as the county continues working through limitations resulting from a cyberattack.

“At this time, internet access at the County office has been restored. That said, we are still troubleshooting system challenges, a process that will continue through the next several weeks.”
Remaining down during this time, Stumpf said, are “public-facing resources” such as GIS Web, which is a system citizens can get property information and mapping. “We understand how disruptive this is for both our employees and the public, and we are working urgently to restore full functionality as safely and quickly as possible,” Stumpf said.
“I just want to publicly recognize all the amazing staff for this past week. I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t say they have been working tirelessly to make sure operations continued with this internet outage.”
There’s no estimate at this time when GIS Web and streaming will be restored.
