LOUISA, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Louisa County Board of Supervisors is giving residents a break on taxes in approving a 3.3% on their tax bills this coming fall. A county release says “To be able to provide the tax relief to citizens this year, the Board of Supervisors worked diligently to mitigate inflationary pressures and maximize efficiencies in an already heavily analyzed budget. Modifications included further reducing operational costs and modifying near-term capital project expenses.”
The Board has also been able to diversify revenue sources. This year, nearly 48% of county revenue was from sources other than general property taxes. Louisa County’s tax rate is one of the lowest in the area at $0.72 for each $100 of property value, and this rebate effectively lowers the FY26 tax rate by 2.4 cents.
