LIGNUM, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office and Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force has arrested a Manassas man on narcotics charges after a Monday traffic stop and short foot chase. State Police say the sheriff’s office along with task force officers stopped a Chevy Tahoe Monday on Route 3 near Yellow Bottom Road for failing to display a license plate. The driver, 43-year old Howard B. Jenkins, then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.
Officers seized from the vehicle 400 grams of cocaine with street value $40,000, 19.2 grams of fentanyl with street value $1900, and $980 cash. He’s charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to distribute I/II narcotics, one misdemeanor count of fleeing from law enforcement, and a traffic offense for failing to display a license plate.
