Sally Crimaudo was born Sally Castellano on May 31, 1938 in Wycoff Heights Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She was Baptized on October 1, 1938 at Saint Barbara’s Church, also in Brooklyn and given the name Sally Marie Castellano, the daughter of Salvatore Castellano and Providence Di Lorenzo.

Sally stayed in New York and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, in the borough of Queens, New York. Her diploma was in a Commercial Course of Study that required a satisfactory record in Scholarship, Behavior and Citizenship. Sally was married at the Church of Saint Brigid in Brooklyn, New York to Benedict Crimaudo on September 5, 1959, when she took the name Sally Crimaudo. After their marriage Sally and Ben Crimaudo moved to New Jersey and had two sons, Stephen and Mark. Sally worked as a secretary for many years and as a home health aide. Sally eventually retired to live in Charlottesville, Virginia to be closer to her two sisters, Carol Schaffner and Joan Miller. Sally enjoyed her time in Virginia and was even crowned: “Miss Mountainside” on March 12, 2012 and upon receiving the honor was quoted saying: “I’m quite surprised.” Sally had never competed in a pageant before that time and also said: “It’s wonderful, it gets everyone together and we all have fun.” Sally eventually moved to Our Lady of Peace and often said how much she liked talking to, watching a movie or playing bingo with the other residents there. Sally is survived by her two sisters Carol Schaffner and Joan Miller, her two sons Mark and Stephen Crimaudo, Stephen’s wife Alison Burns and two grandsons James and Leo Crimaudo.
