CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Two people were found deceased following a report of a shooting in Albemarle County early Sunday morning, according to a release from the Albemarle County Police Department.
At approximately 12:20 p.m. Sunday, ACPD and Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a report of two individuals suffering from gunshots in the 5000 block of Heritage Hall Road. The two victims were pronounced dead at the scene and their remains were sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond, according to the release.
The victims’ names are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe this was an isolated incident with no threat to the public,” the ACPD release said.
