After 22 seasons and a national title, the Brian O’Connor era is over for UVA baseball.

Albemarle County said Friday it is aware it has been included in the Department of Homeland Security’s list of sanctuary jurisdictions but has had no communication with the federal government about that inclusion. The county has reached out for more information.

The national weather service issued a tornado watch on Friday afternoon for 18 counties, including Charlottesville, Albemarle, Greene and Nelson.

The Virginia Department of Forestry reports suppressing 437 wildfires during the spring fire season February 15 through April 30 this year that burned more than 8100 acres and destroyed 66 structures, including 22 homes. 

For the fourth straight summer, the Central and Western Virginia chapter of the Association, is hosting the event at the Greencroft Club in Charlottesville.
