Del. Tom Garrett and Del. Ted Griffin argued against redistricting to Albemarle voters

The former president posted a social media video urging Virginians to ‘respond’ to Republican redistricting efforts in other states.

The Democratic-backed redistricting amendment could flip 4 U.S. House seats.

Republican Delegates Tom Garrett and Tim Griffin will attend the event, and Democratic Del. Amy Laufer said she plans to appear virtually.

The bill, named after former Kentucky swimmer and conservative activist Riley Gaines, allows for civil actions against institutions and athletic associations that “negligently or recklessly allow a biological male athlete to compete in female-only athletic competitions.”

55th District Delegate Amy Laufer (D-Albemarle) said she hopes the Virginia Senate keeps a budget provision of $400-million in flexible funding.

Sen. Creigh Deeds, Del. Katrina Callsen and Del. Amy Laufer will be hearing directly from constituents at a Virtual Town Hall this Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m.

The Augusta Democrat, who worked with FEMA and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is running for Congress.

The General Assembly has moved the 2026 primaries in Virginia to Aug. 4.
