CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Scott Stadium is sold out for Virginia’s opener against North Carolina State this Saturday, UVA announced on social media Thursday.

Saturday will be the stadium’s first sellout since the Cavaliers hosted USC on Aug. 30, 2008, when a record 64,947 packed the venue.

UVA is coming off a program-best 11-win season last year, which included an ACC Championship game appearance and win in the Gator Bowl.

This Saturday’s Week 0 matchup was originally scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but was moved to Charlottesville in June.

A month later, UVA launched its “Sell Out Scott” campaign, with the goal of selling out the venue.

UVA’s matchup with North Carolina State will take place on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
