CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Senior Statesmen of Virginia holds a 5th District Congressional Candidate Forum Wednesday afternoon at The Center at Belvedere, but only one of the candidates has accepted the invitation. A release says Democrat Gloria Witt and Republican John McGuire were both invited in July, and Witt accepted while McGuire declined early this (Tuesday) morning. The event will go with Witt there, and McGuire absent if necessary.

Attendees are advised to register at this link to attend, and they’ll have an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates. The League of Women Voters will also be there to help register people to vote, or update voter registrations.
