LOUISA, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Louisa County Board of Supervisors has unanimously voted to withhold it’s 2025 funding for PVCC over Students for Justice for Palestine’s screening of the film “Israelism”. A film synopsis says “directed by two first-time Jewish filmmakers who share a similar story to the film’s protagonists, “Isrealism” uniquely explores how Jewish attitudes towards Israel are changing dramatically, with massive consequences for the region and for Judaism itself.” The resolution the board passed Monday evening that was not on the pre-published agenda, and without discussion, says “public funds should not support platforms for antisemitism or discrimination”. The resolution suspends the county’s $6000 funding “pending an in-person explanation by PVCC of the college’s stance on discrimination and antisemitism”.
