ORANGE COUNTY, VA. (CvilleRightNow) — Virginia State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle responsible for a crash that occurred on Monday, March 4, in Orange County.

The crash took place at 5:50 a.m. on Route 20 (Constitution Hwy) when an unknown vehicle traveling west attempted to pass a vehicle that had stopped at Rhoades Road to make a left turn. An oncoming 1999 Ford Ranger ran off the right side of the roadway. Consequently, the Ford overcorrected, crossed the centerline, and collided with the 2020 Ram utility van attempting the turn.

The 23-year-old male driver of the Ford, a resident of Orange, Va., was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to UVA Medical Center for treatment.

A 20-year-old female passenger in the Ford suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment. She was also not wearing a seatbelt.

The 41-year-old male driver of the Ram, a resident of Fredericksburg, Va., suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt.

Three adult passengers in the Ram, all wearing seatbelts, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment.
