CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A 27-year-old Ruckersville man died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Tuesday night in Greene County, the Virginia State Police announced.

Austin Reed Young died at the scene after crashing his 2025 Kawasaki ZX1000 motorcycle at approximately 5:22 p.m. on Swift Run Rd. (Route 623), approximately 50 yards south of Wildwood Dr., according to VSP.

Young was traveling south on Swift Run Rd. when he “crossed the centerline, ran off the left side of the road, struck a utility pole, and then struck a tree.”

VSP is investigating the crash.
