RICHMOND, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Governor Youngkin has shared his family had to be rescued from property he owns on the Guadalupe River in Texas during July 4 flooding. The Governor in a Washington Post interview Tuesday said First Lady Suzanne Youngkin and other family members were at property he owns near Hunt, TX and were getting by fine during the day Independence Day, until they weren’t. Youngkin said they were offered an airlift rescue but urged them to rescue people in more peril. The Governor said he flew there Friday afternoon after attending some July 4 events in Virginia and was with swift water rescue teams and the National Guard when things got dicier and they went there that evening to get his family out.
