CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The anticipation for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s is building as preparations are in full swing for the October event. Sherry Owen, Senior Walk Manager, shared insights about the upcoming event and recent advancements in Alzheimer’s treatment during a recent conversation.
Owen highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing the new walk path at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital on Pantops, which will offer participants a scenic route around the hospital grounds.

Owen also discussed a significant breakthrough in Alzheimer’s treatment. “There is kisunla. It’s for the treatment of Alzheimer’s and early stage of mild cognitive impairment. It was just approved by the FDA,” she noted, expressing optimism about ongoing advancements and the possibility of finding a cure.
