ORIGINAL:
A woman reportedly attacked unprovoked on Nassau Street Saturday evening apparently killed her attacker when she ran over him with a vehicle. Charlottesville Police responded shortly after 7:30 Saturday evening to the 700 block of Nassau to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived to find 42-year old Edward Fitzhugh Anderson dead at the scene. The female driver was still at the scene.
According to police, further investigation and statements obtained indicated Anderson attacked the woman while she was parked in her vehicle. As she attempted to flee in her vehicle, it struck Anderson. CPD determines neither Anderson or the woman were acquainted, and the attack appears unprovoked. While the investigation is ongoing, no charges are pending.
