CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Virginia State Police say a driver fled on foot after crashing during a high-speed pursuit on Route 250 late Tuesday night in Albemarle County.
According to a VSP spokesperson, the incident began around 11:00 p.m. on March 11 when a trooper attempted to stop a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria near Interstate 64 at Exit 124. The driver refused to stop and sped westbound on Route 250.
The vehicle later crashed near the intersection of Richmond Road (Route 250) and Stony Point Road (Route 20). A search was conducted with assistance from Albemarle County Police, but authorities were unable to locate the driver.
State police said the driver fled the scene on foot following the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
