CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia men’s basketball will face Arkansas at the Capital Showcase at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m., the Gazelle Group announced on Friday.

“We have great respect for coach John Calipari and his program and look forward to bringing Virginia basketball to the nation’s capital,” head coach Ryan Odom said in a statement.

The game, which will be televised nationally on ESPN, will be the eighth all-time matchup between the two teams, with their first dating back to 1984. Virginia leads the series 4-3, but Arkansas has won three of the last four matchups including the final two. The Razorbacks beat the Cavaliers 85-83 in their last matchup at the 1998 Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Arkansas went 28-9 last season, its second with Naismith Hall of Fame coach John Calipari at the helm. The Razorbacks won the SEC Tournament Championship before advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

Tickets for the game go on sale Friday, Sept. 4.
