ROANOKE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Two people are dead and another treated and released from a hospital after getting hit by a train in Roanoke. Roanoke Police were dispatched shortly before 5 Sunday afternoon to the 700 block of Drew Avenue NE in the city for a report of people being struck by a train. They say it appears a group of people were on or near the tracks as the train approached and two of them were unable to move in time. A woman and boy were dead when officers arrived, and another boy had the minor injuries. The incident is still under investigation.
