CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) Charlottesville police are investigating two separate incidents of shots fired that occurred on Wednesday evening.

The first incident was reported at approximately 7:09 PM in the 1300 block of Midland Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two fired cartridge casings near the dead end of the street. No property damage or injuries were reported.

Later, at approximately 7:44 PM, officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 600 block of Montrose Avenue. A single fired cartridge casing was found in the roadway. Similarly, no property damage or injuries were reported in this incident.

Both areas were temporarily blocked off as officers conducted their investigations. The roadway on Montrose Avenue has since reopened. Both incidents remain under investigation.
