CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – If you’ve noticed construction near the Charlottesville Fire Department’s Station One, it’s not a new business or housing development that’s coming to the 250 Bypass. Instead, Charlottesville Fire is replacing it.

“The original Station One building has served this City well and now the time has come for a much-needed upgrade,” says Fire Chief Michael Thomas. “Station One will be built from the ground up to accommodate the 21st Century needs of the fire service and our growing city. Construction is projected for completion in March 2025. Our firefighters and staff will officially move in May 2025.”
