CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – After losing a Deputy City Manager for Operations after only a week on the job, City Manager Sam Sanders says he has begun interviewing candidates today (Friday) for the position. Sanders February 5th said how happy he was to have a full management team in place with the hiring of Lionel Lyons in the position Sanders had come to Charlottesville to perform. However, a week later, Lyons left for which City Communications Director Afton Schneider said was personal reasons. And, Sanders says, it was during budget season.

Upon being named City Manager, Sanders said filling his old position was top priority… which he did. And now he has to do it again.
