Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)The US Department of Energy has awarded the city of Charlottesville $76,000 for use in energy efficiency projects in the area

A total of $76,840 will be put towards making the community more resilient to climate impacts, including proliferating the solar-powered electrical vehicle chargers around Charlotteville, and a residential energy audit on several households in the area

The money has been awarded to 35 different communities across the country thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. 

The program will educate and prepare residents to access the Inflation Reduction Act Home Energy Rebates and other energy efficiency incentives that reduce energy burdens, improve indoor air quality, and cut climate pollution.
