CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- Two 19-year-olds died from injuries sustained in separate automobile crashes Thursday, Albemarle County Police announced Friday.

At 2:35 p.m. Thursday, ACPD, along with the Albemarle County Fire Department, responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 7500 block of Scottsville Road in Scottsville and found three individuals in life-threatening condition. Three victims were transported to UVA Health, where the driver of one of the vehicles, 19-year-old Trippp Dwyer of Pennsylvania, died. Dwyer was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to ACPD.

About eight hours later, at approximately 10:39 p.m., a single vehicle at the 3100 block of Fontaine Avenue extended left the road and struck a tree next to the roadway.  Of the vehicle’s three occupants, one passenger was ejected on impact. All three were brought to UVA Health, where Walker W. Fendley of Charlottesville was pronounced dead. Investigators have determined speeding to be the cause of the crash, ACPD said.

ACPD Crash Reconstruction teams are investigating both crashes, and charges are pending.
