ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Albemarle County Police Department has arrested and charged the owners of a Keswick-based homebuilder.

Tommy Dewayne Dobson and Anne Christine Dobson, owners of Dobson Homes, Incorporated, are charged with six counts each of felony embezzlement.

Victims accuse the Dobsons of collecting payment before abandoning job sites for weeks or never providing services at all. The total amount Tommy and Anne Dobson are accused of embezzling from Albemarle County residents between October 2020 and December 2022 currently exceeds $1.4 million. All of the victims are over the age of 62 and believed to have been targeted for their vulnerability.

The Dobson were booked into Central Virginia Regional Jail and released on bond.

The Albemarle County Police Department believes there may be more victims in Albemarle County and encourages residents who utilized the company and did not receive services to contact Det. Baggett at (434) 296-5807.
