CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): Representatives from both local police departments in our area will be out in the community today as part of “National Night Out”, a nationwide police community outreach program.   

Albermarle County Police will be holding an event to enjoy minigolf at Putt-Putt Fun Center on Rio Road.  Minigolf will be on offer, along with a meet and greet with the members of the department’s K-9 unit, a scavenger hunt, an opportunity for kids to explore some of ACPD’s police cars.  The event will run from 3:30 until 6:30. 

 Charlottesville Police will also be holding an event.  Chief Michael Kochis and other officers will be at IX Art Park.  The family-fun event will run from 5:30 until 8:00, and will feature a variety of activities and entertainment, including a dunk tank, as well as food from some prominent local vendors. 

 National Night Out is in its 40th year as a Law Enforcement community outreach initiative across the country.
