CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – If you’re doing the outdoors this holiday weekend, do it earlier in the weekend. Accuweather’s Jeff Nordeen says Saturday is mostly clouds, and maybe a few storms popping up in the afternoon… but no big deal. Sunday starts with clouds and sun, then a couple of spotty afternoon storms become more numerous, robust, and heavy overnight into Monday. In fact, those storms overnight into Memorial Day all day could bring heavy rain, hail, and damaging winds.

So that cookout needs to be Saturday or early Sunday.
