CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Charlottesville Fire is investigating what it calls “a unique situation” where they found a body “dead on arrival” this morning to a home on Melbourne Road across from Charlottesville High School. Crews were called shortly before 7 this morning to a report of a fire, but there were no flames when they got there… but there was the smell of smoke. Charlottesville Police say “one adult female (was found) deceased”.

Police are assisting the fire marshal with the investigation, though they say there’s no immediate threat to the public.
