CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WINA) – Wil Zachary Smith, 38, the last of three men who have been arrested over their participation in the 2017 torch-lit march preceding Unite the Right, is free on bond following a plea agreement.

The Nocona, TX, man was charged with both burning an object with the intent to intimidate and maliciously releasing gas. Smith pleaded guilty to the first charge in Albemarle Circuit Court on Wednesday, May 3. In exchange, the second charge was dropped and Smith granted $10,000 bond.

The details of the agreement will be kept sealed until his August 9, 2023, sentencing.

Additional indictments are possible.
