CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Two people face drug charges in Greene County after a traffic stop in which sheriff’s deputies found drugs, paraphernalia, ammunition and a sleeping child in a vehicle occupied by a woman wanted on a felony probation violation warrant, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

Taylor Cook, who was wanted on the outstanding warrant and appeared to be under the influence, now faces new charges of possession of a controlled schedule I/II substance and possession of controlled paraphernalia, according to the release.

Jamie Brown, a male occupant of the vehicle, is charged with possession of a controlled schedule I/II substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

The arrests occurred Oct. 21, according to Thursday’s announcement. Deputies also found a young child asleep in the car. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

“A K-9 unit was subsequently deployed and provided a positive alert on the exterior of the vehicle, establishing probable cause for a search,” the release stated. “A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of multiple bags containing a white, crystal-like substance suspected to be narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.”
