CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – An Orange man is accused of a slew of charges after allegedly harassing someone by way of written threats and phone calls.

Orange County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a county home last Friday after a report of repeated threats.

As sheriff’s deputies were investigating the report of harassing phone calls and multiple threatening messages, including threats of violence, Jonathan Neil Chewning allegedly showed up at the victim’s home in possession of narcotics and a firearm.

Chewning, 32, has been charged with making written threats, harassment over an airway, ringing a telephone to annoy, possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed firearm without a permit, possession of a firearm while in the possession of illegal drugs and driving under the influence.

Chewning is being held without bond pending Wednesday’s hearing in Orange General District Court.
