CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A man wanted for a litany of charges in Fluvanna County was apprehended and arrested in Charlottesville on Wednesday.
On June 23, Fluvanna County deputies were called to a home in the 2000 block of Bremo Road for a report of an assault. When deputies arrived, they located the victim and began searching for Michael Wayne Morris. The 42-year-old eluded law enforcement, followed by a request that anyone with information contact the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, July 30, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Morris was apprehended and taken into custody without incident in the vicinity of the Clarion Pointe Hotel on Emmet Street by the 3A Task Force.
Morris was arrested on the following charges:
• Two Violations of VA Code 18.2-308.2: Possession or Transportation of Firearms by Convicted Felon
• VA Code 18.2-57.2: Assault and Battery Against a Family or Household Member
• VA Code 18.2-282: Brandishing of a Firearm
• VA Code 46.2-817: Felony Eluding
• VA Code 46.2-301: Driving While Revoked
• VA Code 46.2-853: Reckless Driving
• VA Code 46.2-894: Felony Hit & Run
He is being held without bond at the Albemarle County Regional Jail.
