CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A housefire injured an Albemarle County firefighter and displaced a resident and their dog Tuesday night on Old Brook Road.
The firefighter had to be treated for minor heat-related injury after responding to the fire at a home on Old Brook Road. Albemarle Fire got the call shortly before 6:30 p.m. Units arrived at the location in the 1400 block of Old Brook about two minutes later. First arrivals found smoke coming from the rear of the structure.
The resident and dog had safely evacuated and the fire was quickly extinguished. The cause is under investigation, though it’s believed to be accidental.
