The Napa County, CA, Sheriff’s Office began a sexual assault investigation when a young woman said she was sexually assaulted by an unknown suspect. According to the NSO, the woman and her friends were in Yountville, CA, for a wedding and Robinson was one of several guests at the same home. He was initially ruled out as a suspect.
Several years later, however, additional DNA testing was conducted, and detectives got a hit on a profile belonging to Kyle Joseph Robinson, 37, who lives in Louisa.
On July 12, 2025, Napa County sheriff’s deputies took a flight to Virginia and met with detectives from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office. The agencies worked together and arrested Robinson at his home for:
• PC 261(a)(4)- RAPE OF UNCONSCIOUS PERSON (felony)
• PC 286(f)- SODOMY OF AN UNCONSCIOUS VICTIM (felony)
• PC 261(a)(3)- RAPE OF INTOXICATED PERSON (felony)
• PC 286(i)- SODOMY OF INTOXICATED PERSON (felony)
NSO Detectives interviewed Robinson and booked him on a $500,000 bail arrest warrant.
