CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Parks and Recreation has canceled Wednesday’s Farmers in the Park event due to a forecast of extreme heat, high winds, and the potential for thunderstorms.

“The safety of our vendors, customers, and staff is our top priority,” the department said in a release.

For customers who purchased a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share should contact their provider directly for alternate pick-up instructions. Farmers in the Park will return next Wednesday at Pen Park from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. “featuring seasonal produce, local meats, baked goods, and global flavors from over 20 local vendors”.
