A 41-year-old Charlottesville man has been charged with assault and battery following an altercation that left another man seriously injured on the roadway near 4th Street NW and Preston Avenue.

Ron Sanchez will not be retained as the University of Virginia’s men’s basketball head coach following his interim tenure during the 2024-2025 season, UVA Athletics announced Tuesday.
