The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and surrounding areas, citing elevated fire weather conditions today (March 8). Strong winds and low humidity could cause fires to spread rapidly if ignited.

In an ongoing commitment to public safety and preparedness, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the National Weather Service will be Severe Weather Awareness Week next Monday through Friday.
