
As Charlottesville United for Public Education prepares to host a public listening session tonight at 6 at the Charlottesville High School’s Martin Luther King Center for the Performing Arts, city schools have named former CHS principal Kenneth Leatherwood as interim principal.

Following violent brawling among Charlottesville High School students, the Charlottesville School Board has ordered teachers and administrators to spend the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving break working on a “reset” of the school climate while students begin their holiday break early.

Classes will resume Monday with a police presence outside the school.
