Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, said she supports legislation currently being drafted to revise the way members of university boards in Virginia are appointed and confirmed.

Jonell McFadden, Albemarle County’s chief deputy registrar since Sept. 16, has been appointed as the General Registrar and Director of Elections.

Early voting has been going on for more than a month, but the next two Saturdays allow those to vote early who couldn’t make it to the registrar’s office during the week.
