Hong Kong, China (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): The US Squad at the World U20 Women’s Lacrosse Championships has won gold in Hong Kong.
The team, that featured UVA’s single season freshman assist leader, attacker Madison Alaimo, played seven games in the tournament and won each one by double digits, including their final victory against Canada in the gold medal game.
Alaimo scored 18 goals and notched 25 assists for the US in the tournament and earned Player of the Game honors in their 29-1 group stage victory over China.
Madison and the Cavaliers will enter the 2025 NCAA season looking to get back to the NCAA championship, and to improve on a 13-3 regular season record.
