CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, warning of mixed precipitation and hazardous travel conditions across central, northern, and northwest Virginia.

Up to one inch of snow and sleet is expected, with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch. Light sleet moving in Wednesday evening, followed by a mix of freezing rain and sleet after midnight. Areas east of I-95 may see rain mixing in overnight.

Roads may become slippery, especially during the Thursday morning commute. Temperatures are expected to rise after sunrise, transitioning to rain.
