Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Mark Lorenzoni, a well-known community advocate and former owner of the Ragged Mountain Running Shop, has been introduced as WINA’s new “Good News Czar.” Recognized for his dedication to creating positivity in Charlottesville, Lorenzoni is bringing his passion for uplifting the community to his new role, where he plans to highlight inspiring stories, local achievements, and the people making a difference.
Lorenzoni praised the recent success of UVA’s track and field team, specifically highlighting Gary Martin’s record-breaking 3:48 mile. “It might be the single greatest individual, maybe one of the biggest news stories at UVA, but certainly one of the greatest individual accomplishments so far this year for our collegiate athletes of Virginia,“ Lorenzoni said. He credited head coach Vin Lananna for fostering a strong team culture that has kept top athletes committed to the program and contributed to the team’s growing national prominence.
Beyond athletics, Lorenzoni emphasized the broader impact of cultivating a positive environment in both personal and professional settings. He noted that a strong, supportive atmosphere not only motivates individuals but also strengthens communities, workplaces, and teams. As he takes on this new role at WINA, Lorenzoni hopes to amplify the good happening in Charlottesville, sharing stories that inspire and bring people together.
