CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Country music icon Willie Nelson is on the road again, and his traves will bring him to Charlottesville next month.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner will play at Ting Pavilion on the Downtown Mall on Sept. 20, according to an announcement from the venue.

Nelson, who became one of the biggest names in country music in the 1970s, was honored with the Grammy Legend Award in 1990 and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000. He has played in Charlottesville numerous times, most recently holding a 2022 show at Ting. In 2019, he and Alison Kraus played at the University of Virginia’s John Paul Jones Arena.

The show, with special guest Particle Kid, has tickets selling for between $157 for general admission lawn seats up to $395.30 for center sections seats in the first four rows from the stage, according to Ticketmaster’s website. Venue presale tickets go on sale Thursday and regular sales open Friday at 10 a.m.
