STANARDSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Water service has been restored to Stanardsville and parts of Greene County after a water main break earlier today left many residents without water or with low pressure.

The Greene County Department of Water and Sewer confirmed the repair was completed and water service resumed as of 2:50 p.m. Tuesday. The outage affected areas west of Lambs Lane, including the Greene County Public Schools Stanardsville campus, which dismissed students early at 1 p.m. All afternoon activities at Stanardsville schools were canceled, though Ruckersville Elementary was not impacted.

The Greene County Board of Supervisors meeting at 4:30 p.m. remains on schedule at 40 Celt Road. Residents are encouraged to register for the county’s emergency alert system to receive updates on future disruptions.
