CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Running as part of a team who’ve helped stabilize City Council and the City Manager’s Office, Mayor JuanDiego Wade and Vice Mayor Brain Pinkston gathered at the Free Speech Wall announcing they’re running for re-election. Wade and Pinkston said their announcement together comes as the city uses ranked choice voting in the Democratic primary for City Council this coming June, and they wish for voters to vote them 1,2 on the ballot.

Wade said they’re excited about the changes they’ve been part of, but there’s still a lot of work to do they’d like to continue. Pinkston said they’ve not only stabilized city leadership, but they’ve been able to build new teams that have actually delivered on what the people want in the city. Both joined City Council together after being elected to first terms in 2021.
