CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The University of Virginia held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday to commemorate the opening of the new Football Operations Center which is the culmination of a nearly 5 year fundraising effort to help UVA compete in the realm of facilities among power 5 football programs. For years, Virginia has been criticized and recruited against as being a university without adequate football facilities. With the opening of the new operations center, many, including the Voice of the Cavaliers John Freeman feel as if the foundation has been laid for Virginia to begin working toward achieving the success in football that they had under former coach George Welsh, including a number one national ranking in 1990.
