CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing to allow citizens the opportunity to review plans for a proposed bundle of projects along Fontaine Avenue and Hydraulic Road. The event is Thursday, May 22 from 5- to 7PM at the Virginia Department of Forestry at 900 Natural Resources Drive, Suite 800. The proposals aim to improve safety, pedestrian accommodations, and travel efficiency at the US 29 Bypass at Fontaine Avenue, at the roundabout of Hydraulic Road and District Avenue, and improve the overall streetscape of Fontaine Avenue.
The meeting will be an informal open house for citizens to connect with City and VDOT staff. Representatives from VDOT will be available to answer questions and receive both verbal and written comments from the community. Click here for details of each project proposal.
