AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Valley Academy Regional Alternative School teacher’s aide with indecent liberties with a child.

In December of 2024, an investigation was launched about inappropriate sexual relations after a referral from Child Protective Services (CPS).

The investigation focused on allegations of an inappropriate sexual relationship between Valley Academy Regional Alternative School teacher’s aide, Beyonce Milagro Mass, 23, of Staunton, and a male student. According to Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith, the investigation determined that multiple inappropriate relationships between Mass and male students had occurred. The relationships occurred off campus.

Once identified, Mass was removed from the school system and is no longer employed.

On Tuesday, May 27, an Augusta County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Mass with two counts of indecent liberties with a child by custodian. The following day, May 28, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mass, and took her into custody without incident. She is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

The case remains under active investigation.
