CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – University of Virginia Athletics is launching… through its large booster organization, the Virginia Athletics Foundation… a new funding organization called the Sabre Society. A video with the Voice of the Cavaliers’ John Freeman says this new organization “positions UVA Athletics to compete for championships while continuing to provide a world-class experience for our student-athletes. An Athletics Department release says “the Sabre Society is philanthropic in nature”; and recognizes donors on different levels.

Among the Sabre Society giving categories includes Athletics’ Director discretionary funds, facility and capital improvements, endowments, and… of course… NIL. New and enhanced experiences for donors include team travel considerations, invites to unique events, and special behind-the-scenes access.
